Works really well and pretty quiet

Started first pull, runs well and not too loud.
The 12v protection switch is broken on arrival but I don’t intend to use that anyway, I only need the 240 to charge my camper when the sun isn’t out

Great little backup unit for off grid camping and as a quiet 230v source for lighting etc on photography shoots.

GT800 Inverter

I wanted to upgrade an old 2 stroke petrol generator I purchased 10 years ago. I use a generator for lighting etc when camping. Very fast delivery time & I like how Outbax sent me a copy of the owner's handbook before the generator arrived, good idea! Easy to set up, added recommended engine oil and fuel, primed and the generator started 3rd pull. My old generator never had DC power so to make sure it worked I charged a flat spare car battery using the supplied charging leads. Reasonably quiet and I do like the economy mode, this will save fuel and noise. I suppose if I have a criticism you need to undo 4 screws on the service cover just to check the engine oil level, I can see screws getting lost in the long term. Overall, very happy and would highly recommend.

Can I use this generator in a National Park?

Generally, generators below 65dB are allowed in parks as they are considered quiet generators. Our Gentrax unit has a noise level of 58dB at 7m, which is similar to the sound of a low TV volume. However, it's still best to check with the relevant agency managing the national parks that you want to visit in case of additional requirements.

What's the best way to store a compact portable generator?

The best way to store a compact portable generator is to keep it in a dry and cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. It's also important to drain the fuel and oil before storing it for an extended period of time. Additionally, it's recommended to cover the generator with a protective cover to prevent dust and debris from accumulating on it

What type of appliance cords are suitable for this generator?

This generator has a 240v socket with 3 flat pins in a triangular pattern.

How does the overload/oil protection work?

The overload light will illuminate if there is overload or if there is a malfunction or a short circuit in a connected appliance. Oil Alert system is designed to prevent engine damage caused by an insufficient amount of oil in the crankcase. Before the oil level in the crankcase can fall below a safe limit, the Oil Alert system will automatically shut down the engine (the engine switch will remain in the ON position).

When should I disconnect the spark plug?

It is recommended to check the condition of the sparkplug every 3 months or 50 hours. It is also recommended to check the gap and clean or to replace if necessary.
